Because of our growing service area, we are holding three meetings instead of one Annual Meeting, so
we can hopefully connect with more of you. We hope that one of these meetings will be convenient to

We have so much good news to celebrate this year (feel free to come to more than one meeting!).
At our Oakland County meeting (April 16) we will celebrate our successful fundraising campaign and
stewardship program for the Golden Preserve for Biological Diversity; at our Macomb County meeting
(April 23) we look forward to meeting new friends and sharing the conservation priorities that are
developing in Macomb County; and in Lapeer County (April 30) we will celebrate the preservation of
a beautiful farm in our Metamora Horse Country project area. And, of course, we will want to bring
everyone up to date on the success of our Stewardship Program and about the new Lake George Nature
Preserve and the Barkev and Nancy Israelian Kezlarian Conservation Easement.
Members should have received a
proxy form.
We will be voting to re-elect Trustee John Tatum from Bloomfield Township and to newly elect
Tony Feldhus from Romeo in Macomb County as Trustee. We also ask membership approval for a resolution
to change the name of the organization from ‘Oakland Land Conservancy’ to ‘Six Rivers Regional Land
Conservancy.’
Many other things are in the works, including revision of our mission statement and strategic plan,
and we ask for your input. Please give us your thoughts about the Conservancy’s transitions and the
opportunities and challenges we face. We will invite discussion at the Annual Meetings and you are
also welcome to comment by mail or email using the attached
comment card.
