Conservancy preserves are lands that are owned and protected by the Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy. The Conservancy manages
a total of 163 acres at six nature preserves. None of the Conservancy’s preserves are currently open to the public, but
can be visited during tours and stewardship workdays that are offered throughout the year.
Allen Lake Preserve in Rose Township
This 8-acre preserve in the Rattalee Lake wetland complex in Section 2 in Rose Township contains a southern wet meadow, a natural
community that is rare in Michigan and across the United States. This property was transferred to the Conservancy
in 1996.
Cedar Lake Preserve in Oxford Township
This 6-acre preserve in section 28 at Cedar Lake in Oxford Township consists of two peninsulas, tamarack bog vegetation, shoreline,
and open water. This property was donated to the Conservancy in 2000. Conservancy President Ed Coe is the steward
for Cedar Lake Preserve.
Clinton River Rookery Preserve in Rochester Hills
This 24-acre preserve in Section 19 in Rochester Hills protects floodplain and wooded slopes along one mile of the Clinton River
and features a great blue heron rookery. This property was donated to the Conservancy in 1998.
Golden Preserve in Springfield Township
This 32-acre property in Section 16 of Springfield Township has a rich mosaic of communities: sand prairie,
oak woodland, spring-fed pond, marsh, and prairie fen. This property was purchased by the Conservancy in January
2006. Jim Keglovitz is the steward for this preserve.

Voorheis Lake Wetland Preserve in Orion Township
This 11-acre wetland in Section 21 in Orion Township consists of mixed cattails and shrub vegetation along the remaining
undeveloped shoreline of Voorheis Lake. This property was donated to the Conservancy in 1995.
